This weeklong intensive program is an opportunity for high school students to share their enthusiasm for games with their peers and learn about the creative process of making video games. With no programming or previous coding experience required, students are introduced to the basics of games design, human-computer interaction, and prototyping. This camp is centered around learning the science behind what makes games fun instead of frustrating, teaching students how to craft digital experiences instead of write code. Applying these design principles to their own working prototypes, students gain firsthand experience with the games design process used in the industry. At the end of the week, students will present their games for family and friends and leave camp with their very own playable video game. This camp provides students with a useful skill set for future entrance into university programs focused on games design, interactive media, human-computer interaction, and purposeful games.
Age: This camp is for students entering 9th-12th grade.
