During the HU cybersecurity summer camp, the students learn how to monitor networks and identify vulnerabilities that can lead to intrusions or cyberattacks and then review the legal consequences of the attacks.  The student has the opportunity for hands-on labs with hardware, application security, networks, network architecture, operating systems, and coding. The summer camp exposes the student to the definitions and goals of cyber security (CIA), aspects of cyber security, threats, vulnerabilities, risk, policies and standards, information privacy, personal security and safety.  This is complimented by the students using open-source software tools like “Wireshark” and “Nmap” to analyze packet transmissions and map networks. Another key objective of the program is teaching students ethical behavior in cyberspace.
